Board Position: Board Member
I have 43 years of experience with babies as a Doula. My great-grandmother, grandmother and first cousins were all midwives. Once I experienced my first birth at 19 years of age, I knew immediately that I wanted to become a Doula. Now that I am older and not participating in births, I wanted to join the board to ensure that our birth traditions continue and make sure that our women had better health care, education and support. I am a mediator, EMT, and End-of-life Doula. I have worked numerous years in the administrations field, and started several community programs that remain open today. My hopes/visions for OMC are the building of a birthing center! It is one of my dreams for our community.
